YOU ARE NOT CONFUSED: You Are Overloaded

Finding Clarity in Your Calling with Dr. Val

ree

"Lord, I know I'm called, but I don't know to what anymore."

Have you ever felt this way? You have journals full of ideas, people pulling you in different directions—family, ministry, business, school—and somewhere in the middle, you started feeling lost.

Here's the truth: You are not confused. You are just overloaded.

When you clear the clutter, your calling will become much easier to see. Dr. Valarie Harris, founder of Stepping Out with Purpose, recently shared three powerful ways to move from overloaded to clear.

1. Clarity Begins with Presence, Not Pressure

Stop trying to think your way to clarity. Stop making another list, taking another course, or scrolling for new ideas.

Clarity starts when you pause and pray.

Ask God these questions:

  • "God, what are you saying to me about this season?"

  • "Where are you already pushing me?"

Sometimes the confusion isn't what you don't know—it's that there are too many voices, too many expectations, too many open tabs in your mind. It's time to shut some of that down.

Today's Declaration: I choose presence over pressure.

2. Your Story Is Not Random—It's a Road Map

Your story can become a course, a book, a journal, a coaching program, or so many different things. But most importantly, it's meant to help someone else.

Think about:

  • What battles have you survived?

  • What questions do people come to you about again and again?

  • What problem have you lived through that you can help solve?

If God brought you through it, there's a good chance He wants to use you to help someone else walk out of it.

The things you've gone through attract the people who need what you have to offer.

3. Clarity Increases When You Choose ONE Next Assignment

Not 15 assignments. Just one.

You may have a book idea, a coaching concept, a group session, a course, a ministry vision, or a nonprofit dream burning in your heart. All may be valid—but in this season, God is likely highlighting one main thing.

Your 90-Day Assignment

Ask yourself: If I had to choose one assignment for the next 90 days, what would it be?

  • Starting a journal or book?

  • Launching a small group?

  • Joining a collaborative project to learn the process?

  • Creating a program or course?

It doesn't mean you'll never do the other ideas. It just means you're giving God something specific to breathe on right now.
